A 30-week programme
from Glow will work with perpetrators of relationship abuse in Derbyshire who
want to change their behaviour.
Part of our
Domestic Abuse Prevention Programme in Derbyshire, The Keys Project will work
with men in the area who want to stop being abusive towards their partners.
The Keys Project will
be delivered as five six-week long modules, which includes interactive sessions
and one-to-one support.
We’re also working
alongside a wide range of partner agencies including Respect, Cafcass and
Derbyshire Police and Crime Commissioner.
Participants will
be supported to recognise the difference between a healthy and unhealthy
relationship and learn to safely manage their actions and emotions.
There’s continued
support following the end of the programme too, with a minimum of six monthly
check ins to assist with further recovery.
Glow will also work
with current or ex-partners of participants to offer extra support and make
sure their safety remains priority.
Gemma Thomas,
Domestic Abuse Prevention Team Leader at Glow, said: “We will be working with
male perpetrators who have been abusive towards their partner or ex-partner,
through group work which holds them accountable for their behaviour, with the
aim to unlock healthier relationships.
“The safety of
victims and their families is paramount, and we have a dedicated worker
supporting them throughout the perpetrators engagement with our service.
“We work closely
with all partner agencies to provide a coordinated response to men who want to
change their behaviour and stop being abusive towards their partners.
“Participants will
be supported to recognise the difference between a healthy and unhealthy
relationship and learn to safely manage their actions and emotions.”
