We’re pleased to share that we’ll continue to deliver a high-risk domestic abuse service in Derbyshire County. 

We’ve been successful in our recent tender for the Derbyshire County Council IDVA (Independent Domestic Violence Advisor) service. That means we’ve secured £1.5m to continue delivering the specialist domestic abuse support across the county for the next five years. 

The service, delivered by our team of IDVAs in Derbyshire, provides support to victims at high-risk of serious harm or homicide from domestic abuse. IDVAs work with victims from the point of crisis, carrying out risk assessments, creating safety plans and advocating for them with other agencies.

The work of an IDVA is varied and often carried out in different settings such as hospitals, courts and in the community. 

They are highly trained and specialist workers who are able to quickly adapt their support depending on the needs of each customer. 

Head of Domestic Violence and Abuse Services at Glow, Lucy Willis, said that the successful retender will help us continue to ‘keep high-risk victims safe’.

“IDVAs are an extremely important part of the work that we do to protect victims and survivors of domestic abuse. They are highly skilled, specialist workers that support those at the highest risk of serious harm or homicide due to abuse.
