Glow set to launch new domestic abuse accreditation for schools and colleges

We’re launching a brand new accreditation for education providers in 2021.

The DASIE Chain Project is completely free for schools, colleges and academies to join and will help schools recognise and respond to domestic abuse.

Our 5-step pledge will help you give teachers and staff the skills, knowledge and confidence deal with disclosures from pupils and anyone else in the community and how to best support anyone who is or has experienced domestic abuse.

Rebecca Cotton, facilitates our schools programmes: “By schools signing up and becoming accredited, they’ll be helping people recover from domestic abuse sooner, prevent it from happening in the first place and raise awareness.

“It’s estimated that around 20 per cent of children and young people will be affected by domestic abuse, either through witnessing it at home or in their own relationships. So it’s really important that we all work together to show pupils and students that this type of behaviour is not normal and to provide them with help and advice should they need it.

“If we all work together, we can change the future of relationships for the better.”
