    Support in Derbyshire

    What is stalking?

Stalking is when someone’s behaviour towards another person is fixated, obsessive, unwanted and repeated.

At Glow, we're proud to work alongside the Police and Crime Commissioner for Derbyshire, and local partner services, to deliver a stalking and harassment support service in the county.

This includes our Stalking and Harassment Lead IDVA, who has a specialist understanding of stalking and the tactics used to frighten and control. They can provide practical, emotional and advocacy support, as well as developing safety plans and using civil and criminal justice systems to increase your protection.

    • Monitoring your online activity
    • Visiting places you usually go to
    • Messing with your property
    • Asking your friends or family for information about you
    • Hanging around some place they know you go often
    • Repeatedly messaging you or calling you
    • Creating fake accounts to spy on you or pretend to be you

If you think you're being stalked:

    • Know the signs above and trust your instincts
    • Call the police and keep a record of any police reports
    • Keep a record or log of each contact you have with the stalker
    • Save evidence when possible - stalkers often use technology so save all emails, text messages, photos and social media posts as examples of stalking behaviour
